# Automations

In the Automations tab, you can set up email and SMS notifications, which will be triggered by actions. Studio Suite comes with default automations, that should cover your basic notifications needs. If you want to create additional automations, you need to connect your Studio Suite account with SendGrid, in the Integrations tab. This will add a New Automation button at the top right corner of the Automations tab. If you want to send SMS notifications, you need to connect your Studio Suite account with Twilio, in the Integrations tab.

At any time, you can activate or deactivate an automation by clicking the switcher on the right column. If you click the switcher of a campaign, all the automations in that campaign will be activated or deactivated.

# Edit automations

The automations list is split in 6 notificaton categories, by trigger. Nurture are sent when a lead is generated through a nurture campaign with magnets. Confirmation when a new booking is made, Reminders before booking, Follow up after booking, Onboarding when you mark a student enrolled and Cancellation after a cancelled booking.

To edit an automation, click on a category, hover the mouse over the name of the automation in the list and then click on Edit, in the rightmost column. This will open the email edit screen, with the following options:

# 'From' name

In this field you can add the name which will appear as the sender of the email. You can use {{studio.name}} to automatically add the name of your studio.

# Subject

In this field you can add the subject of the email. You can use just a text message, {{user.first_name}} to add your client's first name in the subject or similar liquid code values.

# Body

This will be the content of your email. You can use a lot of liquid code here.

# Timer

The timer select boxes allow you to time the moment when the email will be sent. It can be sent immediately or after a custom number of days, hours or minutes since the moment it was triggered.

# Create automations

Automations New

You can create new automations only if you connect your Studio Suite account with SendGrid, in the Integrations tab. If the connection is active, you will see a New Automation button above the automations list. The add email window will be similar with the edit email window, only with an additional Campaign select box. You can use this to choose the category for the new automation. This category will determine the action which triggers the email.

# SMS automations

Automations SMS

You can use SMS automations only if you connect your Studio Suite account with Twilio, in the Integrations tab. If the connection is active, you will see SMS automations in the Confirmation and Reminders categories.

The SMS automations have a Message field and a Timer. The Message will be the content of your SMS, you can use liquid code here. The Timer allows you to time the moment when the SMS will be sent. It can be sent immediately or after a custom number of days, hours or minutes since the moment it was triggered.
